The Founder
Former industrial engineer. Mom of two. 20 years of chronic acne. I treated my skin like a systems problem and finally figured it out.
My Story
Middle school and high school are hard enough without the constant anxiety of new breakouts every single day. But that was my reality. At 16, I was diagnosed with PCOS and PMOS, which explained a lot but solved nothing. The dermatologists had a script: harsh prescriptions that destroyed my skin barrier, antibiotics, Spironolactone. Things that would help temporarily and wreck everything else long-term. I spent years cycling through treatments, spending thousands, and waking up every morning dreading the mirror.
You know what's really defeating? Holding onto hope that you'll grow out of it. But there I was in my mid-30s, dealing with both wrinkles and acne. I remember thinking about my younger self, the girl who thought this nightmare would end after high school, and feeling completely defeated knowing the struggle had continued for decades.
The Turning Point
In 2011, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis. While scary at first, this diagnosis became the catalyst for completely transforming how I lived. I became obsessed with eliminating toxins from every aspect of our lives: household cleaners, personal care products, even furniture and clothing choices.
For over 13 years I researched everything. Air quality, natural fiber clothing, eliminating plastics, EMF exposure. My skincare routine was completely toxin-free. I focused on gut health recovery after years of antibiotic damage. Added targeted supplements for my thyroid, hormones, and overall wellness. Switched to an anti-inflammatory diet, managed my stress, prioritized sleep, and incorporated practices like lymphatic drainage, sauna, and red light therapy.
These changes helped tremendously. I felt better. My Hashimoto's was well-managed. I was doing everything the wellness world told me to do.
But my skin? Still breaking out regularly.
I had spent over a decade healing my body from the inside out. Yet I couldn't crack the acne code. Something was still missing and I had no idea what.
As an industrial engineer, I'm trained to analyze systems, identify root causes, and optimize processes. I knew if I could apply that same thinking to skincare ingredients, I could finally figure this out. Spoiler: I did.
Then came the moment that changed everything. I started seeing a new facialist who took one look at my routine and literally exclaimed: "YOU PUT COCONUT OIL ON YOUR FACE?!"
I had been religiously following natural skincare advice, using coconut oil for oil cleansing like all the clean beauty websites recommended. It was natural. It was toxin-free. It was supposed to be good for me.
But my facialist's reaction made my engineering brain kick into high gear. Could this be it? The one missing piece after all these years?
That question sent me down a research rabbit hole about comedogenic ingredients: substances that clog pores and directly cause breakouts. And suddenly, everything made sense.
I had spent over a decade addressing my health from the inside out. Gut health. Hormones. Inflammation. Liver function. Stress. All of that internal work WAS helping. It was creating the foundation my body needed for clear skin.
But I was sabotaging it all by putting pore-clogging ingredients directly on my face every single day.
So I did what engineers do. I built systems. I started cataloging every toxic ingredient and every comedogenic compound. I cross-referenced them with product formulations. What started as my personal spreadsheet became the foundation for the 600+ ingredient database I now share with you.
Here's what fired me up: clean beauty brands focus solely on avoiding toxic ingredients but completely ignore the comedogenic factor. Meanwhile, acne-safe brands focus only on non-comedogenic formulas but load their products with toxic chemicals that damage your skin barrier and disrupt your hormones. Nobody was addressing both pieces. Until now.
The Second Gap
After my Hashimoto's diagnosis, I was taking supplements for everything. Thyroid support. Hormonal balance. Gut health. Hair growth. Adaptogens for cortisol. I was doing everything the wellness world told me to do.
What I discovered: the supplement industry and the acne science community have never been required to speak to each other. Supplement brands optimize for cortisol reduction, thyroid support, hair growth. There is zero regulatory obligation to assess whether a supplement is triggering hormonal acne. Your skin has been living in that gap.
When I finally screened my supplement stack the same way I screened my skincare, I found the culprits. The biotin. Certain adaptogens. Ingredients I was taking to help my skin were actively working against it.
When I addressed all four pillars at the same time, my skin cleared completely. January 2025. After 20 years. Not because I found a magic product. Because I stopped solving pieces in isolation and built the complete system.
The Results
Once I eliminated both toxic AND comedogenic ingredients from my topical routine, and fixed my supplement stack, everything I had been building internally for years finally had a chance to work. My skin transformed in about a month. Not because topicals or supplements alone are magic. Because I had already spent a decade building that internal foundation. The ingredient and supplement gaps had been the roadblocks preventing all that work from showing up on my skin.
It is like spending years building a beautiful house with the best foundation and the strongest structure, but leaving one window open during a rainstorm. You can do everything else perfectly, but if water keeps getting in, you will never have a dry house. The comedogenic ingredients and the acne-triggering supplements were my open windows.
My husband proposed to me in the morning. I had no makeup on. I was breaking out badly. I said no pictures.
I have no pictures from that moment.
When I had my kids, I obviously wasn't getting ready in the hospital. I barely have pictures from the newborn days either. I was self-conscious and the last thing I wanted was a camera on my skin. My toddler used to look at my face and ask me why I had so many boo-boos.
I missed out on so many moments. I have so few pictures from some of the most important days of my life because I was insecure about my skin. That still makes me sad when I think about it.
Having acne was all-consuming. I revolved plans around it. I thought about it constantly. I was always researching, always looking for the one product or trick that was finally going to change it. I didn't understand what I was doing wrong or why it wasn't working when nobody else in my family struggled like this.
When my skin finally cleared in January 2025, the thing I remember most is that it felt like how it should have always been. Like this huge mental load just lifted. I started waking up and not immediately thinking about what pimples I'd find in the mirror. I stopped building my whole morning around covering my face. Now I get to just be present with my kids. I get to be in the pictures.
I'll do anything to help other women not go through what I went through. That is why I am here. Not just to help them clear their skin, but to give back the moments they've been missing. The ones they can still have.
Raw honey face masks. They calm inflammation, reduce scarring, and cost pennies compared to fancy treatments. I am an engineer. I care about ROI.
What I Stand For
I analyze ingredients the way I analyze manufacturing systems: methodically, systematically, with zero tolerance for guesswork. Every recommendation is data-backed, not just trendy.
I spent over a decade addressing gut health, hormones, inflammation, and stress. That internal work matters. But you also need topical precision. You need both pieces to win.
I address both toxic AND comedogenic ingredients together, plus the supplement piece. Clean brands ignore pore-clogging. Acne-safe brands ignore toxins. Nobody screens your supplements. I do all three.
This is not theoretical for me. I lived with chronic acne for over 20 years. I know the frustration, the defeat, the money wasted. And I know the relief of finally finding what actually works.
Acne is not about being dirty. You can wash your face 10 times a day and it will not matter if you are using the wrong ingredients or the wrong supplements. Let's get the science right and skip the shame.
When you get the formula right, transformation happens quickly. My skin cleared in a month once I figured it out. You do not need to suffer for decades like I did.
